The Vice President Business Operations has the strategic and operational accountability for Procurement, Business Development, Legal, Facility Management incl. Environmental Health and Safety, and IT. The Vice President Business Operations (m/f/d) will lead a team of functional experts and will directly report to the Chief Financial Officer. He/She (m/f/d) will leverage knowledge, experience and capabilities of experts, internal team members and external stakeholders in order to establish superior business processes throughout the company


Your responsibilities:

  • Lead Formycon’s Business Operations areas
  • Drive Formycon’s Business Operations strategies and long-range plan
  • Lead the Business Development and Legal teams in all stages of business development from identification of business opportunities to contract negotiation and successful closing, including CDMO contracts, licensing agreements, co-development, joint ventures, equity investments, M&A, lease, etc.
  • Strategic facility and IT planning, management and implementation (hardware, software, systems) to ensure state-of-the-art facility and IT infrastructure (performance, security, robustness and practicability)
  • Compliance with all relevant EHS regulation
  • State-of-the-art risk and compliance management systems and risk mitigation strategies
  • Excellence in all business operation areas and state-of-the-art business support
  • Continuous development of the Business Operations organization as well as associated processes
  • Coaching of team members and strong collaboration with internal and external peers and partners

Your qualifications:

  • Strategically thinking manager (m/f/d) with strong leadership and execution skills
  • Several years of professional experience in comparable position, business experience in life science is an advantage
  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative, energetic self-starter with strong interpersonal and analytical skills and proven ability to work effectively with team and board members and other senior management as a partner
  • Proven track record of identifying opportunities and, structuring, negotiating and closing transactions including strategic alliances, M&A, licensing agreements, joint ventures, equity investments, etc.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and work successfully with varied audiences including industry partners, financial institutions, Board of Directors, fellow management and employees, with a strong executive presence
  • Desire to be part of a team and an organization where scientific and business excellence are shared values
  • Fluent in English, Germans speaking is an advantage
